Enfants qui jouent dans la pluie pour s'occuper quand il ne fait pas beau au Luxembourg

Our ideas for keeping children occupied when the weather is bad

November 18, 2025

It's the weekend, it's raining, your children are bursting with energy, and you're desperately looking for something to keep them occupied. Forget the TV, let's go outside! Yes, but somewhere sheltered... Here is a selection of fun activities to do as a family when the weather in Luxembourg isn't at its best.

After all that fun, your children will probably be ravenous! Extend your family day out with a meal at one of the many restaurants that accept the Pluxee card. Use our store locator to find all the establishments in our network near you.

Unwind in an indoor playground

In these indoor recreation centers, you will find everything your little ones could wish for: slides, ball pools, interactive and immersive games, trampolines, laser games, bouncy castles, and more. Each establishment has its own unique features, but all offer a special area or activities for toddlers (under 3 years old). Feel free to visit their websites for information on opening hours and current prices.

At Yoyo Restaurant, you can pay the bill with your Pluxee card!

Escape through reading, movies, or music

You don't have to travel far to experience exciting adventures. Just open a book, go to the movies, or even attend a concert. The wonderful thing about art is that it suits all tastes and ages. What's more, Luxembourg's cultural offering is diverse and comprehensive.

  • Once upon a time: a multilingual library in Luxembourg

Bring your children aged 0 to 10 to this extraordinary place, which houses thousands of books in 42 languages! Reading workshops are organized regularly. More information is available on the non-profit organization's Facebook page.

  • Municipal libraries in Luxembourg

They often organize activities for children. This is the case at the Letzebuerger City Library (Luxembourg City) and Bib fir Kids (Differdange). The latter offers a storytelling session (in Luxembourgish) followed by a craft activity on the first Saturday of every month.

  • Cinema Paradiso in Luxembourg

Every Sunday at 3 p.m., at the Cinémathèque (Luxembourg City), enjoy animated films and classic movies with the whole family. More information on the City of Luxembourg website.

  • Kid’s Phil

The Philharmonie Luxembourg offers a special program for children, with shows accessible to young children (aged 2 and up) as well as older children, in different languages. Discover the program on the Philharmonie website.

Learning while having fun

A museum isn't necessarily the first place that springs to mind when you want to entertain your children. And yet, many museums in Luxembourg offer programs and tours tailored to young audiences. Some museums are even entirely dedicated to children: they are interactive, fun, surprising... and educational!

  • The Plomm in Wiltz : a museum entirely dedicated to children, which also offers exhibitions and workshops.

Try the best water slides

Water games are always a good idea when it comes to getting our children excited. Fortunately, Luxembourg, known for its high-quality sports facilities, has many aquatic centers equipped for families. Here is a selection.

  • AquaNat’Our in Hosingen (Nord) : The Red Slide has a stopwatch. Who will be the fastest?

  • The thermal baths in Strassen (Center) : There are three slides for children of all ages: ages 6 and up, ages 12 and up, and ages 16 and up (“Space Shuttle”).

  • Nordpool in Colmar-Berg (Centre) : Two slides for little ones, one located in the paddling pool and another for older children, 80 meters long.

  • Pool of Rédange (Sud) : Will you dare to accompany your children on the fastest slide in the region, the “turbo speed,” with a top speed of 60 km/h? For the less adventurous and younger children, another slide, the “magic twice,” allows you to race against the clock thanks to its two lanes.

  • Pool of Rodange (Sud) : The recently renovated swimming pool is equipped with a brand new 80-meter-long slide!
